Ramnagar Fort is located on the banks of
Ganges and is about two km from
Banaras Hindu University.
It was built by Maharaja Balwant Singh. The Banaras Vidya Mandir Museum is housed in the Ramnager fort. Textiles, pieces of decorative arts, arms and armors, bagghis, palkis and haudasivories, furniture and manuscripts are the major displays in the museum.
