Ramkund Lake

Ramkund Lake is one of the most important sites in Panchavati, Maharashtra. This holy tank, which measures 27 x 12 sq m, was built by Chitrarao Khatarkar in AD 1696. Taking a holy dip in this lake is considered very pious.

Legend is that Lord Ram and Sita used to take bath in this tank during their exile.

Gandhi Lake, situated nearby, is worth visiting. There is also a monument made out of white marble, in memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
