One of the main places of worship in
Ayodhya is the ancient citadel of Ramkot. It stands on an elevated ground in the western part of the city. The area is presently occupied mostly by temples and mutts.
This sacred place is visited by pilgrims through out the year.
Ram Navami, celebrated amidst much pomp and splendor, in the Hindu month of Chaitra (March-April), attracts large number of devotees from all over India.
