Ramgarh Shiva Temple is an ancient temple situated at Ramgarh, in
Sikar District of
Rajasthan. It is of similar architecture and design as that of the Udayeshwara Temple in
Vidisha District.
The shikhara of the temple is decorated with seven storeys of five horizontal rows of miniature shikhara, in each quadrant. At the base of the central ratha, there are sculptured medallions, inset in bold chaitya-dormers. The temple is beautifully ornamented showing bands of elephants, horses, lions and humans. The shikhara design gives a new interpretation of the Bhumija mode.
