Rambarat, the marriage procession of
Sri Ram, is celebrated every year during Ramlila celebrations in
Agra,
Uttar Pradesh. It is held in the month of September and October.
Every year a new location in the town is chosen as Janakpuri, which is decorated to perform the royal wedding. The Rambarat starts from Lala Channomaiji Id Baradari to Janakpuri. The barat, a large procession of Jhankis, is accompanied by the idols of Ram-Lakshman mounted on elephants.
