Ramakrishna Mission in
New Delhi is a branch of the world wide Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, founded by
Swami Vivekananda in 1897. Established in 1927, the center is based on the teachings of
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa - one of the great religious leaders of India.
Ramakrishna Mission conducts various spiritual and cultural activities such as a temple for meditation, daily worship and aarti, celebrating birthday anniversaries of the prophets and festivals of all religions, discourses on religious scriptures in the mission premises and outside.
The center has a temple which enshrines a beautiful image of Sri Ramakrishna. Daily worship of Sri Ramakrishna, mangala aarti, devotional songs and chanting from the Vedas on special occasions are held in the temple.
Ramakrishna Mission has a medical centre, homeopathic dispensary and a mobile hospital. Its TB clinic was the first of its kind in India. Education and personality development programs and relief work in times of natural calamities are other activities.
