Ramakrishna Mission in
Chengalpattu,
Kanchipuram District, aims to practice and preach the Sanatana Dharma, the eternal religion of man as embodied in the lives, and to spread the ideals of
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and
Swami Vivekananda. It is situated on 20 acres of lush green land. There is a main shrine in the centre with a beautiful marble image of Sri Ramakrishna surrounded by monks’ quarters, students’ hostel and destitute welfare centre.
Ramakrishna Mission conducts worships, trainings of monastic aspirants and religious preaching. Special prayers and religious discourses are organized in festival occasions. Other activities include general and technical education with an ethical and spiritual background, medical services, famine and distress relief works and other community services.
Chengalpattu Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
