Rajur Ganapati Temple is situated at Rajur, 25 km north of
Jalna in
Maharashtra. The temple enshrines the
swayambhu idol of
Lord Ganesh. Rajur is regarded as one of the three and a half Ganesh Peetams in Ganesh Purana. Other peetams are at Morgaon and
Chinchwad (
Pune) and the remaining half peetam is at Padmalaya. The temple is believed to have been built by Yadavas.
Devotees visit the temple in large number, especially on Chaturthi days, as Chaturthi is stated to be very auspicious to Lord Ganesh. A fair conducted on Angarika Chaturthi draws a large number of people.
Nearest airport is at Aurangabad (60 km). Regular bus services connect Jalna with Mumbai, Nasik,
Manmad, Hyderabad (354 km) and Shirdi.
