Spread over an area of 58,800 sq m, the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium is located in Southern Avenue of
Kolkata, in
West Bengal. The pavilion of the stadium can accommodate about 700 persons. With green surroundings, it is an ideal place for meetings and seminars. Even though the stadium functions under the Sports Department, the Calcutta Improvement Trust is the owner. Many prominent personalities including Yuri Gagarin (Russian astronaut) and Emyl Zatopek (athlete) have attended various functions arranged in this stadium. It has been a venue for many international football matches.
