Pushpavaneswarar Temple




Pushpavaneswarar Temple is located at Tiruppuvanoor, 3 km from Needamangalam railway station in Tiruvarur District. The presiding deity of this Shivasthalam is Puttpavanathar. The temple, spread in an area of 3.5 acres, has 2 prakarams spanning about 2 acres. It also has two Ambal shrines, those of Karpakavalli and Rajarajeswari. The Sthala Vriksham (sacred tree) is Palamaram and the Teertham is Karumguzhiteertham. Saint Appar is said to have contributed pathigam about the lord here. The main festival is the annual Brahmotsavam celebrated in the month of Vaikasi (May-June). The temple can be accessed by traveling 10 km from Mannargudi.
