Purna, a small village near
Bhiwandi, is situated on the outskirts of
Mumbai. The village is famous as a power-loom center and is an important warehousing hub for traditional transport companies. It also has a number of godowns for storing textiles, electronic goods and the chemicals meant for yarn.
Kalyan Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead and the airport is at Mumbai. Purna lies on the
Thane-Bhiwandi road, outside the octroi zone.
National Highway 3 passes through Bhiwandi.
