Purandara Dasa Aradhana Music Festival is observed at the Vithala Temple in
Hampi,
Karnataka. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the medieval poet and composer Purandara Dasa, who is thought to be the founder of Carnatic music. Purandara Dasa was believed to be the incarnation of the great
sage Narada himself. The event is organized every year between the months of January-February.
