Prokash Karmakar, a world-famous Indian painter, was born in
Kolkata in 1913. Prahlad Karmokar, a celebrated artist, was his father. Prokash was educated at the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. In most of his paintings, he has portrayed the everyday disorders of society. He is also known for painting landscapes, hills, valleys, and seas. Prokash’s paintings have been displayed both nationally and internationally.
