Prasanna Venkatasalapathi Temple




Prasanna Venkatasalapathi Temple is located on top of Perumalmalai, which is 3 km from Thuraiyur, in Tiruchirappalli District of Tamil Nadu.

The temple was constructed by the grandson of Karikal Cholan. It is adorned with many stone sculptures and the stone pillars of the temple produces sweet chime when struck. The sculptures of ten avathars of Lord Vishnu is another highlight of the temple.

The Saturdays of Tamil month of Purattasi (September-October) are celebrated in a grand manner. During the full moon days thousands of devotees take part in the Girivalam procession around the Perumalmalai.
