Pranayama is the basic breathing exercise performed in
yoga. It will help to regulate emotions and clears the mind. It is practiced in a sitting posture called ardha padmasana with neck and head in straight positions.
Pranayama is done by breathing in air and holding it for some moment. Later the air is released slowly. These three processes are called puraka, kumbhaka, and the rechaka. This yoga pose is good for cardiovascular problems and to expand the level of concentration.
The different types of pranayama includes quiet breathing, deep breathing, fast breathing, nadi shuddhi pranayama, ujjayi pranayama, and bhramari pranayama.
