Prahalada Ghat

Prahalada Ghat in Varanasi is named after Prahalada, an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. This ghat has been found mentioned in the Gahadavala inscriptions of the 12th century.

Prahaladesvara Temple, Prahalada Kesava Temple and Vidara Narsimha Temple are the major shrines in the southern part of the ghat. Mahisasura Teertham and Svaralingesvara Temple are among the major places of worship in the northern side.

A grand festival is held at Prahaladesvara Temple in honor of Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, during April-May.
