Pottangi

Pottangi is a small town situated at the foothills of Eastern Ghats in Koraput District in Orissa and is near the district’s border with Andhra Pradesh. It lies on National Highway 43 and is 47 km south-east of Koraput and about 24 km from Sunabeda.

Salu, in Andhra Pradesh, is the nearest major settlement. The highest peak in Orissa, the Demali, falls in the Pottangi block. Indravati National Park, Kanger Valley National Park, Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary and Jeypore constitute interesting excursions outside Pottangi.

Nearest airport is at Visakhapatnam. Koraput Railway Station serves Pottangi.
