Ponbetti




Ponbetti is a small village in Karaikal District, Pondicherry. It derived its name from the word ‘Ponbattri.’

Ponpattrikavalan Buddhamitran, the author of the literary work ‘Veerachozhia,’ was a native of this place.

One of the prime attractions is the old Shiva Temple, which is built in the shape of Buddha Vihara.
