Pitanga is a multipurpose center located in the residential zone of
Auroville. It was established in 1991 with an idea of offering a mix of health related programs and services in eastern and western systems. The main activities are health care, cultural activities and services, educational courses and workshops.
Regular classes in yoga and dance are conducted in the large rooms. Pitanga has dressing rooms, a homeopathic dispensary and music-video library. Its multi-purpose hall is a venue for group events such as Indian classical or western musical performances. Permission is granted for visitors.
