Phuta Ghat is one among the numerous
ghats on the banks of
Ganges at
Varanasi. It was originally called Yajneshvara Ghat.
Phuta Ghat was renovated and rebuilt by a revered person named Swami Maheshvarananda in mid-nineteenth century. Therefore the ghat is also called Naya Ghat, where the word ‘naya’ means ‘new.’
