The focal point of the Phulpui village in
Aizawl District is the two graves of Zawlpala, the chief of the village and Talvungi, a woman of tremendous beauty. Talvungi was married to Zawlpala. But due to certain circumstances, Talvungi was forced to marry the chief of the Rothai village, Phuntia, though her mind was with Zawlpala. Years passed by and ultimately Talvungi, after the death of Zawlpala, dug a pit by the side of Zawlpala's grave and induced an old woman to kill and bury her. This spot attracts tourists from far and near.
