Pertabghur




Pertabghur is located in Sonitpur District of Assam. It is named after the powerful king, Pertab Chandra, who ruled this place during the medieval ages. The king had built Ghurs (fortresses) to protect Pertabpur (an empire). Later, Pertabpur was renamed to Pertabghur.

Pertabghur is well-known for tea estates. The Pertabghur Tea Estate is a 9 sq km property of Williamson Magor Group. It produces reddish bright tea.
