Periyavandavar Temple is located at Tirunallur in
Thanjavur District. The temple is 6 km from
Kumbhakonam.
The temple deity is Periyavandavar with his consort Kalyanasundari. The image of
Natarajar here is of great beauty and inscriptions from the Chola period are found in the temple. It is believed that the Shiva Lingam of the temple changes its color five times a day and thus the name Panchavarneswarar.
Bhringi Muni and Narasimhar are said to have worshipped here.
