Pepsu Road Transport Corporation was set up on October 16, 1956 under the provisions of the Road Transport Corporations Act 1950, with an aim to provide an efficient, adequate, economic and properly coordinated system of road transport services in the state of
Punjab. The head office of the PRTC is located at
Patiala.
The PRTC runs regular services connecting major cities, small towns and the remotest of villages of the state. Apart from intercity services, the corporation also undertakes interstate schedules to the neighboring states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
