Pehchaan, a monthly performance and education series, commenced its activities in 2002. It was started as a branch of the Pandit Shambhu Maharaj Kathak Academy (an educational wing of
Dhwani Peformance and Arts Education).
The prime objective is to introduce the students to classical and traditional art forms from all over India. All the performances are open to the general public. After that, a series of workshops are conducted. Pehchaan is held every month at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi.
