Peer Khoh

Situated to the north-east of Jammu, Peer Khoh is a tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 3.5 km from Jammu. This spot lies amongst igneous rocks and acacia jungle.

Famous for its caves, Peer Khoh traces its history from the legends and myths connected with the epic age. Peer Khoh is also noted for the Peer Khoh Cave Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are two caves at a depth of about 20 to 30 ft below the surface of the temple complex. The entrance to the first cave is through the right side. Since the height of this tunnel cave is about 5 ft, a normal person has to bend while crossing the cave. On the other hand, the second one is a broader cave with a height of 12 ft.

Aap Shambu Temple, Ranbireshwar Temple and Panjbakhtar Temple are nearby pilgrim places.

Peer Khoh can be approached from Jammu Tawi Railway Station and Jammu Airport.
