Patal Bhubneshwar Temple is a delightful shrine and 14 km from
Gangolihat, in
Pithoragarh District of
Uttaranchal. Located at an altitude of 1,350 m, it is located about 91 km from
Pithoragarh. It is believed to be the abode of thousand of deities of the Hindu pantheon.
Patal Bhubneshwar Temple can be reached through a narrow tunnel shaped cave. The main passage branches inside and opens up in to several small caves which have in them the stone carvings of many traditional gods and goddesses.
