Pasupateswarar Temple




Pasupatheswarar Temple is located at Tiruvetkalam in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, near the Annamalai University. The inscriptions of the temple are found to be of the 16th century (Nayaka period). Legend is that Lord Shiva appeared before Arjuna in the form of a hunter to give him the waepon, Pasupatastram. It is also said that the bows Gandipam and Pinakam have been formed here. This event is celebrated as the festival of the temple.
