Parassala Mahadev Temple




Parassala Mahadev Temple is a highly revered shrine located at Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. It was built by Mallen Chembakaraman Delava of Venad royal family.

The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva. The temple enshrines the idols of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh. The local populate also worship nagas here. Pradhosha puja and dhara are the main offerings at the temple.

Parassala is about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram. All buses to Nagercoil from Thiruvananthapuram pass through Parassala. The nearest railhead is Parassala Railway Station, about two kilometers away.
