Paramapadhanathan Temple

Paramapadhanathan Temple is situated at Peria Kanchipuram (Tiruparamechuravinnagaram), about half a mile from the Kanchipuram railway station. Covering an area of about three acres, the temple holds a sacred tank known as Airammadha Teertham. The temple was built by Nandi Varma Pallavan II. The deity of the temple faces the west. There is a separate worship place for Goddess Vaikuntha Valli. The three layered Ashtanga vimana depicts the three positions of the deity. The lower part is in the sitting pose and the upper two parts in reclining and standing postures respectively. The main festivals celebrated here are Vaikunda Ekadasi and the annual Brahmotsavam.
