Panchphoron




Sometimes called Bengali Five Spice, Panchphoron is a classic mixture of five spices namely jeera (cumin seeds), kalaunji (nigella seeds), saunf (fennel seeds), fenugreek and mustard seeds. It is used by the Bengalis for flavoring seafood, vegetable and lentil dishes. It gives a typical flavor to Bengali Cuisine and can beeasily distinguished from other regions of India. This is available in Indian grocery stores.
