Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple is a highly revered shrine, situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, near Mantralaya. The highlight here is a five-faced idol of Lord Hanuman.

According to legends, it is the spot where Sri Raghavendra Swamy performed penance for 12 years in a cave. As a result, Lord Panchamukhi – an incarnation of Lord Hanuman amalgamating within him the avatars of Varaha, Garuda, Anjaneya, Narasimha and Hayagreeva – appeared before him.
