Pallen-Kalan is a war dance performed by the Marings Nagas in
Manipur. This dance is performed by menfolk. The artists pushing forward, leaping in the air, parrying imaginary spear-thrusts and retreat are very interesting. The theme of this dance is the victory over the enemies. The artists perform this dance in their war dress with a rectangular shield in the left hand and a spear in the right hand.
