Pallavaneswarar Temple




Pallavaneswarar Temple is located at Poompuhar near Sirkazhi. The temple has 5 tiered rajagopuram and a single prakaram. The temple deities are Lord Pallavaneswarar and Goddess Soundara Nayaki. This temple is at the meeting point of river Cauveri with the ocean. There is a separate shrine for Sambaapathi Amman here. The main festival is the Pattinathaar festival celebrated in the month of Aadi. Other festivals are Navaratri and Skanda Shashti. The temple can be reached by traveling 16 km from Sirkazhi.
