Palasbari is in
Assam's
Kamrup District. It is bounded by Balagaon in the west, Haulighat in the north, Sualkuchi in the east and Loharghat in the south. It is a prime trading center of the district and is famous for timber and muga industry. Hakarapara, a small village is this town, is well known all over the state for its bamboo mats.
Hajo, a sacred place for Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists, is 12 km north of Palasbari.
