Pachhapur Town was built by one Pacha, an officer of
Adil Shahi in
Bijapur. The place has a
railway station and a tall watch tower on its hill fort. The tower was built in Adil Shahi times, which is visible from quite a long distance.
The Mallikarjun Temple has been built in the later Chalukyan style. Hidkal Dam is close to this place. Near the dam, there displayed are the antiques from some sub-merged villages. Many fossils have been unearthed near the dam site.
