Pachala Someshwara Temple




Pachala Someshwara Temple lies in the village of Panagal in Nalgonda District. An 11th century temple built during the Kakatiya period.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple has the shrines of Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. The temple has exclusive sculpture. The walls, pillars and ceilings of the temple are depicted with Shiva and Vishnu stories. The outside walls are decorated with carvings of the gods. Besides, one can also see a huge Nandi, the Ashta Dikpalakas, a dancing Ganapati (Ganesh), and Lord Vishnu in the form of a boar.
