Our Lady of St Anne’s Church is situated at Binaga, a picturesque village in
Uttara Kannada District of
Karnataka. Binaga is about 5 km from
Karwar.
This is the first Latin Catholic Church erected in India by the Portuguese. It was consecrated in 1506. Due to age and neglect, the church is in an awfully dilapidated state.
Close to St Anne’s Church is the Binaga Beach, which is famous for its natural beauty and wide seashore.
Karwar Railway Station is the nearest railhead, about 7 km from Karwar town.
