Ottapalam Nercha is an annual festival celebrated at Ottapalam Juma Masjid, where the mortal remains of Saint Uthman Auliya, a revered man in Muslim community, is entombed. It is held in the month of January-February to commemorate the death anniversary of the saint.
The special feature of this festival is a grand procession bringing ceremoniously various articles such as rice and coconut to the masjid. Next day, a grand feast is held where the various articles from the procession offerings are cooked and distributed to the poor.
Ottapalam Juma Masjid is situated in Ottapalam, which is about 40 km west of Palakkad, in Kerala.
