The Old Palace is a grand structure situated on the outskirts of
Kolhapur city in
Maharashtra. It still accommodates members of the maharaja's family.
The palace has an impressive marquee with filigree work in stone. It encompasses a collection of swords. A temple dedicated to Goddess Bhawani is housed in the palace.
Behind this palace is the Mahalakshmi Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the goddess of prosperity.
Kolhapur is on the Bangalore-Pune highway. Kolhapur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
