Odantapuri is an ancient Buddhist learning center located at
Bihar Sharif in
Nalanda District of
Bihar. It is about 13 km
Nalanda.
This ancient Buddhist College was founded by Gopala, the first ruler of the Pala dynasty, in the 7th century. Later, Odantapuri was used as a monastery. It had a large library with a collection of Buddhist literature. Presently, the place holds only the remains of this Buddhist College.
Gupta Pillar, which dates back to the 5th century, is a nearby attraction.
Bihar Sharif Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
