Ochira Temple is a unique place of worship with no shrine or idol. The principal deity is a concept called Parabrahmam (Cosmic Consciousness). The temple is located 34 km north of
Kollam, in
Kerala. The two main events of this temple are
Ochirakali which falls in mid-June, and the 'Panthranduvilakku,' which is a twelve-day festival of lights in November / December. On the festival days cattle and agricultural trade fairs are organized.
To get to this place, the nearest railway station is at Ochira, a few minutes drive from the temple. The nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport, about 105 km from Kollam.
