Nyan (Ovis ammon) is the largest wild sheep found in the grassy mountains slopes of
Ladakh. Popularly known as the Great Tibetan sheep, this animal is noted for its long horns. The horns usually measure 145 cm. Visitors can see Nyan in the extreme eastern portion of Ladakh, at an altitude of 4,500 m. This big horned animal is the major attraction of Ladakh wildlife.
