North Sentinel Island is an inhabited island to the west of South Andaman. It is a dangerous island of about 73 square kilometers, lying about 29 km off the west of South Andaman. And about 29 km west of the Andaman are the dangerous Western Banks and Dalrymple Ban. The most evasive tribe, the
Sentinelese, live on this island. Therefore this island is called the ‘Island of head hunters’.
