Nitoda




Nitoda is a small village which lies at a distance of 5 km from Sarupganj in Sirohi District. This is an important Jain center supposed to belong to a period earlier than the 12th century. There is an ancient Jain temple named Shri Nitoda Tirth. This temple houses the beautiful white colored idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath in Padmasana posture. Babeshwarji, the idol of a Yaksha bearing the inscriptions of the Vikram era, found here is an interesting feature. Diyanatirth is another Jain temple easily reachable from Nitoda. A large number of devotees throng Nitoda during the main Jain festivals. Boarding facilities are available here. Sarupganj Railway Station is the nearest railhead (5 km).
