Nisargopchar Ashram is located at Uruli Kanchan in
Pune District, of
Maharashtra. It aims to promote preventive aspects of Naturopathy in rural areas and to demonstrate the beneficial effects of naturopathy in various diseases.
The ashram provides treatments for hypertension, ischemic heart diseases, arthritis, backache, spondylosis and respiratory diseases. Massage, hip bath, sun bath, steam bath, acupressure and yoga are among the treatment methods. Nisargopchar Ashram also engages in research and documentation of the effect of naturopathy in chronic diseases.
Single and double rooms, family quarters and cottages are available for accommodation of the patients. Besides, general ward accommodation is provided with separate massage room and attached toilet. The ashram serves vegetarian food. There is a well maintained garden, walking track and gymnasium.
The ashram has a library which houses a wide collection of books on Naturopathy, yoga, health science and Gandhian and Sarvodaya literature.
