Nimadi is a tribal community found in the states of
Madhya Pradesh,
Uttar Pradesh and
Maharashtra. These tribes are known for their specific life style and culture. Virtually Nimadis follow the basic Hindu customs and traditions.
They mainly work as peasant farmers and field labourers. 'Nimadi' is their spoken language, which belongs to the Indo-Aryan language family. Marriage is done within their own classes.
Nimadis have their own festival called Gannagoria. They also celebrate all major Hindu festivals.
