Nawala is usually celebrated by the
Gaddis of
Kangra,
Chamba,
Mandi and Kullu. This occasion is also marked as a thanks-giving ceremony to
Lord Shiva, who is mostly worshipped in times of misfortune and calamity. The devotional songs praising Lord Shiva is sung whole night during this festival.
