The Navaratra Mahalakshmi temple is situated at
Jalgaon in
Maharashtra. It is dedicated to
Goddess Lakshmi. This temple is constructed from stone, with a ‘kalash’ (pot-like structure) on the top of its tower. Brass bars are fitted on the four sides of the temple. The throne of the deity is plated with silver with a dimension of 41x41 inches. These plates are embellished with fine carvings. Behind the throne there is a ‘
shivlinga’ and an idol of
Lord Ganesh. Located still farther behind is an idol of
Lord Hanuman, measuring three and half inch high, facing towards the west.
An annual fair is held in this temple for 10 days during the Hindu month of Bhadrapad (August-September). This fair attracts a large number of devotes from in and around Jalgaon.
