Natya Shodh Sansthan, an archive of Indian theater, is situated at Bidhan Nagar in
Kolkata. It is an air conditioned auditorium available for holding programs, seminars, meetings and exhibitions. The theater lays a special emphasis on folk and traditional forms and post-independence Indian theater in the form of original manuscripts, periodicals, books, photographs and video recordings. It also conducts research in and collects theater materials. Its giant library houses a collection of contemporary documents centered on Indian Theater. The library also has a representative selection of play-scripts, back issues of journals and current issues of periodicals.
